Truth is one of the foremost requirements for success ! . Truthfulness to your own self, to your family, to the society, community , to the country . Once you adhere to this , your mind is clear and there is nothing hidden . Psychologically it gives boost to your confidence in yourself, it makes others also feel about this noble character in yourself and you will have many followers ,friends etc who believe you and have confidence in you. This leads to leadership along with other skills which of course are knowledge etc which can be acquired.
To be truthful is not that much easier . Preaching is easier than practice. But once this good trait is inhibited right from child hood , it is much easier.
So now the responsibility of getting this rests on the parents and the teachers as they are the main architects of the kids to imbibe ,build the character and conduct of the individuals. "We reap what we sow" .
In the olden days , the Indian system of Grukula ( students are required to stay with the teacher and follow his teachings and acquire full knowledge of the skill/art and also serve the teacher). Generally such "Gurus " (Teachers used to be great saints/yogis etc) who do selfless service to the Humanity not expecting anything in return. They are generally very spiritual in nature.
Their nature is such , that they forget the body but only concentrate on the soul. They can withstand any climate (even without wearing clothes) , be on fast for any no of days etc.
Truthfulness for them is the "Realization of the existence of one Super power,God" They have no hatred against any body. they are revered by one and all. They have such powers that their utterings become true.
Even though in this modern materialistic world , it may be difficult to reach that stage of maturity , at least we should strive to become a more acceptable person to the society by our words, deeds etc.
Truthfulness also brings within us the selfless ness and also the desire to help others ,fellow human beings . It also leads to a path of peace and Prosperity!
